Sell-centers were organized in Lviv, Odessa, Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih: police exposed fraudsters
Law enforcement officers exposed the attackers who created and provided the operation of fraudulent sales centers in Lviv, Odessa, Dnipro and Krivoy Rog. More than 800 people were involved in the work. Scenarios of communication with “clients” were developed in advance. And operators were taught to use manipulative techniques aimed at challenging trust.
The attackers equipped the offices with electronic computing and SIP telephony. Citizens were called under the guise of employees of the security service of banks and mobile operators. So the violators learned the details of the cards and codes from SMS messages for the subsequent appropriation of money.
In addition, citizens were offered to invest in cryptocurrency. Or interested victims in ultra-high returns on investments in various areas of the economy. The amount of damage caused is established.
At the locations of the call centers, law enforcement officers conducted 17 searches. Almost 900 units of computer equipment were seized, as well as mobile phones, hard drives, SIM cards and documentation.
Four criminal proceedings have been opened under parts 2, 3, 4 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
