Organized an underground online casino: members of the criminal group were informed of the suspicion
Cyberpolice, together with the detectives of the Main Unit of Detectives of the BEB under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, stopped the activity of the illegal online casino. Five members of the group have been notified of suspicion.
Law enforcement officers installed a 35-year-old organizer of the “business”. The man thought out a criminal scheme and involved a 29-year-old acquaintance with programming skills in illegal activities. The latter created a site for online gambling. Men advertised online casino services on social media.
The participants organized a round-the-clock call center to communicate with players in instant messengers, accept payments from players, form an individual link to the game and pay winnings. The operators involved three more acquaintances.
For the conspiracy, the members of the grouping used the card accounts of third parties, the so-called drops.
Law enforcement officers stopped the operation of the online casino and conducted searches in the premises of the defendants and the territory of Kiev and Poltava. Removed computer equipment, more than 20 mobile phones, 50 bank and 100 SIM cards, notes.
Detectives of the BEB declared suspicion to five members of the organized group under Part 2, 3, 5 of Art. 27, Part 3 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 203-2 (Illegal activities for the organization or conduct of gambling, lotteries) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the moment, petitions are sent to the court to elect the defendants preventive measures in the form of a pledge.
A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
