National police officers detained an amphetamine dealer
The Kievan equipped two garages for drug laboratories. In one he synthesized amphetamine, in the other — precursors for its production. Sold the finished goods in bulk batches by pre-order.
The perpetrator was exposed by the operatives of the Department for Combating Drug Crimes together with the investigators of the Main Investigation Department, the analysts of the Criminal Analysis Department, supported by the staff of the operational services of the National Police of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
It was established that the 34-year-old Kiev resident has established the process of manufacturing prohibited substances in his own garages, which are located on the territory of Solomensky and Svyatoshyn districts. In one, he equipped a drug laboratory for the manufacture of amphetamine. Another garage was equipped with everything necessary for the manufacture of phenylnitropropene, the main precursor used in the synthesis of the psychotropic substance amphetamine. He sold the “goods” in wholesale pairs to a trusted circle of persons, and produced only on the prior order of customers.
Law enforcement officers, with the strong support of the soldiers of the special unit TOR, detained the man during the direct process of manufacturing amphetamine. During searches of the location of laboratories, in the premises and cars of the accused, the police seized about half a kilogram of amphetamine, half a kilogram of phenylnitropropene and a large amount of various laboratory equipment. In addition, the car that he used in his illegal activities was seized.
The recovered physical evidence is referred for examination. The estimated cost of seized prohibited substances at “black” market prices exceeds half a million hryvnias.
Investigators informed the defendant about the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 307, Part 3 of Art. 311 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or shipment of psychotropic substances and precursors in particularly large quantities). The Svyatoshinsky District Court of Kyiv has already chosen a preventive measure for him in the form of non-alternative detention.
The sanction of the accused articles provides for liability in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
