Operatives of the State Border Guard Service collected evidence of violation of the laws and customs of war by the commander of the 8th separate artillery regiment of the coast defense of the 22nd Army Corps of the Coast Guard of the Russian Federation, who was declared suspected of committing the crime provided for in Part 2 of Art. 28, part 2. Art. 438 Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The operational-search units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office and in cooperation with the investigators of the USB of Ukraine in the Kherson region, documented the criminal activities of the Russian military commander.
The investigation gathered evidence of the suspect's involvement in large-scale indiscriminate shelling of the central part of Kherson, which resulted in the death and injury of a significant number of people, as well as the destruction of residential buildings, vehicles and civilian infrastructure.
