Operatives of the State Border Guard Service together with the police eliminated the illegal scheme of transporting men abroad
Residents of Ternopil and Volyn regions have established a channel for transporting citizens of conscription age across the border under the guise of drivers who carry out international transportation. The attackers entered the data of pseudo-workers into the automatic system for issuing permits “PATH”, for which they took from several hundred to several thousand US dollars. Thus, men of conscription age had the opportunity to circumvent the ban on leaving Ukraine.
During the implementation of operational information by monitoring the commission of a crime, a group of carriers was detained. The men were escorted to Poland through the checkpoints “Rava-Ruska” and “Ugriniv” by nine “clients”. For this, the defendants used 7 minibuses, and the drivers of the vehicles “employed” men.
However, an interdepartmental group consisting of operatives of the Western Regional Administration and employees of the Migration Police of the GUNP in the Ternopil region, with the force support of the border special unit “DOZOR” and the special unit of the police, detained the intruders.
According to the results of dozens of searches of the homes and vehicles of the defendants in the Volyn and Ternopil regions, almost 70 thousand US dollars, about 11 thousand euros, 238 thousand zlotys and 181 thousand hryvnias were found and seized. Also, passports and copies of passports of citizens of Ukraine for traveling abroad, extracts from the register of Ukrtranssecurity, draft records, several dozen mobile phones and flash drives, 1 tablet, 3 laptops and a device similar to a revolver are attached to the criminal proceedings. In addition, 9 minibuses and 1 passenger car were arrested.
According to preliminary data, the transporters brought more than 300 people to the electronic system, some of whom did not return to their homeland. The amount of illegal earnings, according to preliminary estimates, is more than 5 million hryvnias.
Three defendants in criminal proceedings were informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.
The issue of choosing preventive measures for other members of the group is resolved.
