Operational information on the mass pilgrimage of the Bratslav Hasids to the city. Uman
As of 08:00 on September 15 to m. 32 thousand 332 Hasidic pilgrims arrived in Uman. During the day, 10 thousand 88 Hasidic pilgrims crossed the state border at the checkpoints.
For thorough inspection and registration of pilgrims in Uman, law enforcement officers deployed checkpoints. They are equipped with modern X-ray cameras and metal detector frames. For quick checking of luggage and arrivals, the points are equipped with modern systems.
The new systems will provide law enforcement officers with the opportunity to increase the safety and speed of control procedures. The use of X-ray scanners will create more comfortable conditions for people who are checked at these points. This will make it impossible for foreign guests to transport prohibited things and objects to places of compact residence and stay of pilgrims.
In places of mass gathering of pilgrims, there is a round-the-clock duty on 7 posts, including: 4 fire and rescue, 2 diving rescue and mobile radiation and chemical monitoring post. In addition, in places of accumulation of pilgrims, pedestrian patrols of the State Emergency Service are involved, which are provided with primary means of fire extinguishing and medical equipment.
Recall that in the period from September 15 to 17, at the grave of Tsadik Nakhman and in the premises of the synagogues of the city. In Uman, religious events are held on the occasion of the celebration of Rosh ga Shana (New Year 5 784 according to the Jewish calendar) by the Bratslav Hasids.
