Suspicion of seven traitors who captured Ukrainian military and stormed Azovstal
Donetsk special officers of the “Cascade” unit, led by the so-called “Minister of Internal Affairs” of the self-proclaimed republic, took part in the assault on Azovstal and tried to “knock out” Ukrainian servicemen. Law enforcement officers identified members of illegal armed formations, among traitors — former militiamen.
Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, operatives of the Department of Internal Security and SBI investigators have established defectors who are fighting on the side of Russia. Seven of them were reported under suspicion in absentia, in particular the “Minister of the Interior of the People's Republic of Moldova” and his deputy.
It was established that a 48-year-old official of the pseudo-agency, in the past he was deputy head of the department for combating crimes related to trafficking in human beings of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk region, together with his 46-year-old deputy, also a former policeman, as part of the operational-combat tactical formation “mvdnia cascade” participated in the storming of the Azovstal plant.
The police identified five more residents of the region who went to serve in the said combat formation led by the so-called minister of the force department.
Together with Russian troops in May 2022, the fighters of the “special unit” tried to “knock out” the Ukrainian defenders from their positions, capturing Azovstal. Traitors destroyed the infrastructure of the enterprise, killed civilians and captured the defenders of Mariupol. It is worth noting that during the fighting in the bomb shelters of the plant, civilians, in particular women with children, were hiding from the occupiers.
Currently, seven defendants have been indicted in Part 2 of Art. 111 (Treason) and Part 3, Part 4 of Art. 260 (Creation of paramilitary or armed formations not provided for by law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They are threatened with life imprisonment.
