The National Guardsman with the nickname “Beard” was born when the independence of Ukraine was proclaimed, but now defends this independence in the war. Mortar has been fighting for Ukraine since 2018.

A full-scale invasion for the serviceman began with the defense of Kharkiv region. The fighter liberated his native region from Russian troops. Also, the man took part in the battles for Bakhmut.

He admits that the Russians do not spare the ammunition, but they fire chaotically: “They calm down only when they are delivered BC. And yes, they shoot constantly, they have no restrictions.”

Today, together with his brothers, he liberates the Zaporizhzhya region from the invaders. He says this offensive is more complex than the fighting in Bakhmut.

“There we kept the defense, here we are advancing, and we switched places with them,” says “Beard”.

In this war, the National Guardsman lost his best friend, who was to become the godfather of his children.

“We served together on a contract. We spent almost a year together,” says the national guard.

His brothers are the same guys from different cities, who have already become a second family for each other.

“Even when I'm on vacation, it's tempting to come to the boys. We are now like a family. I miss them like my family when I don't see them for a long time,” Beard shares with a smile.

The family of the guard now lives in Kharkov. She and her wife met on the Internet, and after a few months Anastasia moved to her husband from the Sumy region. Border villages were heavily shelled there.

The guard made a proposal to his wife while lying with a wound in a hospital in Dnipro. Soon they had a son. The warrior arrived from the front line to be in a partnership delivery with his wife.

“I now only dream of Victory,” admits “Beard”. “I dream of buying an apartment, raising my son and just living peacefully.”
