Father and son together serve in one of the parts of the National Guard of Ukraine. They have a common dream, a common trench in positions, and they are even called the same — both men have the name Arthur.

I went to accompany my son to the war and wanted to ask if people like me were accepted to serve or not... and I also became a military man,” says 52-year-old Volyn Artur jokingly, telling how he got into the National Guard. Already in a serious tone, the man adds: “But the war unleashed by Russia against us — no joke at all.
The Russians are an absolutely cynical and ruthless people who destroy everything and everyone in their path. And our task is to protect our family. The war has united us and we will not stop until the final victory.”

His son, Arthur, fully shares his father's opinion. At the age of 28, the guy managed to serve his military service. In 2015, he defended Mariupol from Russian invaders. Then he moved to Poland for work.

At first it was very difficult to work abroad. But I didn't give up and learn. Last year I decided to stay in Poland and start my own business. The war completely changed my outlook. I don't want to go back there anymore. After our victory in our native Ukraine, there will be a lot of work. We will have to rebuild everything brick by brick with our own hands. It takes hands and mine is ready for hard work,” says Arthur Jr.

Father and son — two Arturas — in addition to a common name, share the trench one by two and have a common dream: to knock the Russian enemy out of Ukrainian soil once and for all.

Victory will surely be upon us.
