One blood donor can save three lives: National guards and border guards donated blood for brothers
Due to the full-scale war with the Russian aggressor, the need for donor blood, especially with a negative Rh factor, has increased critically, so the servicemen of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are systematically involved in blood donation.
“The need for donor blood remains high. Blood is needed to save our warriors and the innocent victims of the atrocities of the Russian invaders. A donor can be any capable citizen, foreigner or stateless person over 18 years of age who has a permanent residence permit in Ukraine after passing a medical examination. The process is thorough — from checking the hemoglobin level to screening for viruses, and all this is free of charge,” recalled the health instructor Denis.
The process takes only 15 minutes, a maximum of 450 milliliters is taken from each donor and blood can be donated every two months.
“I've been doing this for over 10 years. And I feel the renewal! No matter how many times I do it, these feelings remain the same,” said guard Stanislav.
Donation is difficult to overestimate because blood cannot be produced or reproduced in the laboratory. Every drop counts, every donor is a lifesaver. Soldiers of the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service also once again participated in the donation of blood and its components for Ukrainian defenders and defenders. More than fifty border guards replenished the blood bank.
Before the procedure, medical professionals performed a mandatory medical examination of the donors to make sure that they do not have health problems. Border guards, by their example, call on citizens to participate in blood donation - this is the least that any person who is not on the battlefield can do now. Remember that one donation can save the lives of three brave fighters.
Every able-bodied Ukrainian over the age of 18 who has no medical contraindications can join blood donation.
