Odessa National Guardsmen continue to defend their homeland
The guards daily repel the armed aggression of the Russian Federation on all borders and directions. In order to professionally knock out the invaders from our lands, the soldiers undergo various training and training.
Since the fall of last year, a new significant factor has appeared in the Russian-Ukrainian war - the Iranian drones “Shahed”. The Russian Federation uses lethal drones mainly for attacks on civilian and military infrastructure inside Ukraine. The National Guardsmen quickly and efficiently learned to detect and shoot down these aerial targets.
“Soldiers of machine gun calculations constantly increase practical skills in classes where the situation is as close as possible to combat. After all, on the real border there will be many factors that will affect the work of calculations,” the deputy commander of the brigade notes.
The fighters paid special attention to the theoretical foundations of shooting, methods of conducting fire on ground and air targets at different distances, studying internal, external ballistics, the arrangement, structure of the Volodymyrov large-caliber machine gun and practically worked out the training shooting exercise, and for aerial target simulations were used by drones.
“Working with this model of small arms is extremely urgent. We paid a lot of attention to working on scenarios of different types of combat situation,” one of the machine-gunfighters shares.
Such exercises are exhausting, since the machine gun itself and the ammunition for it are quite heavy. This motivates the guards to constantly improve their physical training. Therefore, at the same time with the study of theory and practical exercises, fighters are intensively engaged in sports. This is necessary so that the body is trained, and the actions that the soldiers will carry out with the machine gun are of high quality, and the shots - accurate.
