In the framework of the official visit to Nuremberg (the Free State of Bavaria, the Federal Republic of Germany), Vasyl Teteria, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, met with a Bavarian delegation headed by Joachim Herrmann, the State Minister of the Interior, Sport and Integration of Bavaria.

They focused on support for Ukraine in the face of the russian full-scale invasion, as well as strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Bavaria and exchange of experience.

Vasyl Teteria, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, expressed his gratitude for the consistent support of Ukraine’s initiatives in the international arena and for the humanitarian assistance provided to the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

“We are grateful to all the people of Bavaria. And today’s visit is a confirmation of our fruitful cooperation. I emphasise once again that the assistance of our partners translates into hundreds of lives saved. And owing to the efforts of our Bavarian friends, we receive all the necessary assistance in a timely manner and can repel a rather strong enemy”, – said Vasyl Teteria, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

In his turn, Joachim Herrmann, the State Minister of the Interior, Sport and Integration of Bavaria, noted that his land admires the Ukrainian people, who are fighting not only for their own freedom, but for the freedom of the whole of Europe. According to him, now is not the time to reduce support for Ukraine, as global peace depends on it:

“The aggressiveness of the russian president is horrifying, therefore it is important that the whole world clearly understands that Ukraine is fighting for the freedom of the whole of Europe. If Putin succeeds in Ukraine, he will not stop, and the war will come here. For this reason, we have to explain to everyone in Europe that we need to support Ukraine to stop Putin. And we are very pleased that you are here on a visit, as this is an occasion for us to take new steps and provide you with the necessary support at the level of our Ministry”.

Vasyl Teteria, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, also informed the partners about the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in combating cybercrime, illegal migration, and the fight against criminals.

“We are currently recording a downward trend in the number of certain types of criminal offenses. This trend is to some extent due to the extension of the curfew in all regions of the country, the increased presence of police officers and National Guard servicemen on the streets, and increased responsibility for committing crimes. In general, we can say that the crime situation is now under control”, – said Vasyl Teteria.

In his turn, Joachim Herrmann, the State Minister of Internal Affairs, Sport and Integration of Bavaria, commended the efficiency of the Ukrainian cyber police and expressed hope for greater cooperation to share experience with the Ukrainian specialists.

“We must not forget that organized crime is present throughout Europe simultaneously with the war, hence we have to tackle this situation. Presently, we feel that Russia is trying to influence our country, in particular through cyberattacks”, – said Joachim Herrmann, the Bavarian State Minister of the Interior.

The parties also raised the issue of revitalising cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the State Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bavaria and agreed on further steps in this direction.

Johann Eitzenberger, Chairman of the Bavarian State Firefighters’ Association, also announced another convoy of humanitarian assistance to be delivered to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in August.

At the end of the negotiations, Vasyl Teteria, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, awarded the representatives of the Ukraine Coordination Group (KOG) under the Bavarian State Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Bavarian State Firefighters’ Association and the Bavarian Special Response Police with the awards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for their assistance to Ukraine.

To recap, during his official visit to Germany, Vasyl Teteria, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, met with Udo Skrzypczak, the President of the Bavarian Special Response Police, in Nuremberg.
