They held positions in the “people's militia” of Donetsk region and Zaporizhzhia: two collaborators were informed of suspicion
Law enforcement officers reported the suspicion to two collaborators - officials of the “people's militia” of Donetsk region and Zaporizhzhia.
Operatives of Donetsk region established the involvement of a former official of the regional militia in working against the enemy. Until 2014, the man served in various units of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk region, in particular he was the head of one of the departments of the Criminal Investigation Department. He resigned from the internal affairs bodies for health reasons.
However, after the full-scale invasion of Russia and the capture of the city of Volnovakha by the enemy, the former lieutenant colonel of the militia decided to support the “Russian measure” and voluntarily headed the illegally created law enforcement agency - “Volnovakha District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs” so-called “Dnieper r”.
Another former law enforcement officer who agreed to cooperate with the occupiers was established by employees of the Zaporizhzhya Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine. A 40-year-old resident of Zaporizhzhia in the summer of 2022 headed the “Kirilov detachment” of the illegally created occupation militia in Zaporizhia Oblast.
In their positions, the defendants serve in the interests of the occupiers, recruit employees and agitate the local population to join the ranks of Russian law enforcement officers, to commit illegal actions against the local population.
Defectors were notified of suspicion in absentia under Part 7 of Article 111-1 (Collaborative Activities) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment - up to fifteen years in prison.
