Illegal border crossing in “credit” on bicycles
Two men who intended to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border were detained yesterday as part of the special operation “West-2023” by the border guards of the “Vilok” department of the Mukachevo detachment.
Residents of Transcarpathia and Ternopil region, following the instructions of freight forwarders, arrived in the village of Vilok where they received bicycles and instructions on the direction of movement across the border. On the indicated route, the cyclists were waiting for a “barrier” in the form of a border guard outfit.
According to the transporters, the border guards could not pay attention to people moving in two-wheeled vehicles.
However, it did not happen as it was thought. The border outfit stopped the cyclists and from the first minutes of communication exposed the illegal intentions of the men, and later established the identity of a local resident who provided the “tourists” with vehicles. To clarify the circumstances of the offense, all three were detained and taken to the border unit.
The detained men admitted that they had picked up on the offer of strangers, with whom they communicated only by phone. For the services of intruders, they had to pay abroad, having worked for a certain time at the job offered to them. Men did not worry about the fact that such proposals often lead to labor slavery.
Currently, the Mukachevo Border Detachment operatives are carefully studying all the details of the committed offense, in order to establish the organizers of the illegal transportation of people across the border.
