Profited from help for relatives of dead fighters: police detained the attacker
The exposadovita of one of the bank branches during 2022-2023 offered banking services to the relatives of the dead soldiers from the Belogorsk region. But instead of opening deposits, appropriated their funds.
The 32-year-old attacker, having learned about helping the families of the dead servicemen, offered them to profitably purchase foreign currency and open a deposit in a bank.
When the victims agreed and brought the funds, the abuser appropriated them. Thus, she was enriched in the amount of more than 5 million hryvnias.
At present, the investigators of the Shepetov Regional Police Department under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office have declared the woman a suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 191 (Appropriation by a person of someone else's property, which was entrusted and held in charge, committed on a particularly large scale in the conditions of martial law by the person abusing his official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 7 to 12 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to 4 years and with confiscation of property. The suspect is currently in custody.
