Natalia Naumenko: You can now register your place of residence online
Last year, experts of the State Migration Service of Ukraine took an active part in the development of amendments to the legislation in terms of registration of the place of residence on the declarative principle. Therefore, on November 5, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law of Ukraine №1871-IX “On the provision of public electronic services for declaration and registration of residence in Ukraine”, which will improve the relevant procedures and simplify the provision of administrative services.
“It is the improvement of legislation in the field of migration, as in other areas, that allows us to more clearly structure the rules by which we work. After the introduction of these novelties in the legislation, Ukrainians will register their place of residence exclusively on a declarative basis. That is, certificates and stamps in the passport will be unnecessary. And the deregistration will take place at the request of the homeowner and without a court decision,” said Natalia Naumenko.
According to the head of the DMS, registration will also be possible online by filing a declaration through the Diya application.
“Such information will come from each registration authority and will be summarized in the departmental information system of the State Tax Service of Ukraine with subsequent transfer to the State Demographic Register,” Natalia Naumenko explained.
She also added that the verification of such data will be carried out at the request of the relevant authorities or the person himself. This will relieve citizens from the need to submit paper certificates of registration of residence.
