This year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine continued to work on the development of integrated video surveillance platforms. So far, we have integrated more than 8 thousand video cameras into a single platform. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko reported on his Telegram channel.
“Of course, wherever possible in wartime conditions. The plan is to add all the more than 50,000 currently installed. Including - more than 7 thousand intellectual ones,” he said..
Cameras are both prevention and assistance in solving crimes. Thus, the Minister writes, due to the increase in the number and improvement of the quality of video cameras, in particular, it was possible to reduce the number of robberies in public places threefold.
In addition, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes, the investigation of any crime begins with the question of the presence of video surveillance near the scene of the incident.
The results of the analysis of video footage from surveillance cameras are also used by law enforcement agencies to detect war crimes.
“Building a safe public environment is one of the priority areas of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And the development of a comprehensive video surveillance system is key in this process. Therefore, we continue to work!”, - Igor Klymenko stressed in his Telegram channel.
