Attacked, beaten, shackled and stole two million hryvnias: criminals detained in Kyiv
The capital's law enforcement officers detained members of a criminal group for a robbery attack. The event took place at the beginning of November this year in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv.
Then the businessman left the house and headed to the car with a bag of money, which contained more than two million hryvnias. On the street, the man was attacked by two strangers, forced him into the entrance, punched him, sprayed tear gas in his face, then put shackles on him, fastened him to the handrail of the staircase and took away the bag with money.
All police uniforms were focused on the search and arrest of the defendants. In order to “cross” the tracks while moving around the city, the accomplices moved several times into different public and private transport. However, after analyzing a large amount of information, interviewing likely witnesses, carrying out a number of other operational-search measures, law enforcement officers identified persons involved in this daring crime.
One of the accomplices is a 59-year-old man, previously convicted of a series of serious crimes, including robbery and premeditated murder, the other is a 30-year-old native of Kherson region.
The organizer of the attack was the wife of one of the perpetrators, a 38-year-old Kyiv woman. The attackers followed the victim for several days, analyzing his route of movement. After the implementation of the criminal plan, the defendants distributed the “earned” funds among themselves.
As a result of seven searches of the violators' residences, physical evidence was found and seized, including outerwear, bank cards, shackles, a gas can, mobile phones and a grenade.
Information on this fact is included in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 4 of Art. 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - robbery aimed at seizing property of a particularly large size, committed by an organized group in conditions of martial law.
The defendants have been informed of the suspicion of committing a crime and in the near future the court will choose preventive measures for them.
