Attackers on police officers detained in Odessa region — they face life imprisonment
Thanks to the coordinated work of operational services, the whereabouts of the defendants were inserted - they were hiding in the Odessa region. The attackers are detained with the force support of the special unit KORD. The attackers are two military men, father and son, 52 and 26 years old, natives of Vinnytsia region.
The policeman, who died in the line of duty, protecting the partner who was attacked first, managed to shoot and wound the attackers.
The circumstances of the incident and the motives of the crime committed are established.
On the fact of the attack, investigators initiated criminal proceedings under Art. 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - murder or attempted murder of a law enforcement officer in connection with the performance of official duties by this employee. The sanction of the article provides for up to life imprisonment.
The procedural guidance in the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Vinnytsia Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Southern Region.
The entire staff of the police of Vinnytsia region and neighboring regions was focused on the arrest of intruders, and a special police operation was introduced.
