They tried to illegally cross the state border: border guards detained dealers
Thus, the other day, the operational officers of the Lviv Border Guard, together with law enforcement officers, exposed a clergyman who assisted compatriots in illegally crossing the border under the guise of ministers of the Christian Church.
Law enforcers established that a 31-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih, who was temporarily in Lviv region, provided his “clients” with documents for crossing the border during the legal regime of martial law. The fictitious documents stated that the citizen is allegedly a deacon of a religious community and travels abroad in order to cooperate with religious charities to receive humanitarian aid.
During another illegal transfer attempt, the men were detained at one of the checkpoints in Lviv region.
Police investigators informed the detainee about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 332 (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment — imprisonment for a term of five to seven years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.
The suspect was given a precautionary measure in the form of detention.
Another incident happened at the checkpoint “Rava - Ruska”. During the screening, one of the passengers reported that he was accompanying his father, who has a disability group II, across the border.
However, the 36-year-old Ukrainian could not present all the necessary documents. The driver of the car tried to convince the border guards that he was following the border as a volunteer and entered into the “Path” system. However, after a check, two people were refused to cross the border.
In order to still achieve his own and leave Ukraine, one of the men tried to bribe the inspector. On the offer of a bribe in the amount of 2,000 euros, the border outfit of the Lviv detachment responded with a refusal.
On this fact, VVVB employees of the State Border Guard Service informed representatives of the National Police. Responsibility for this offense is provided for in Art. 369 of the Criminal Code “Offer, promise or provision of unlawful benefits to an official”. The bribers were handed over by the border guards to the employees of the National Police.
