The channel for supplying drugs to Khmelnytsky SIZO was established: the police stopped the activities of the criminal group
Operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in Khmelnytsky region and investigators of the regional police blocked drug traffic to the special agency and distribution channels of drugs among the arrested.
Using his authority and influence in criminal circles, the organizer attracted to the business people who already had problems with the law for crimes related to the illegal trafficking of narcotic substances. Each of the group members played a separate role in the criminal process: packaging, delivery of prohibited substances and their sale on the territory of the special institution.
During the investigation, the police found that drugs entered the territory of the correctional institution from accomplices “at will” with common goods and in medical drugs. Then, under the leadership of the leader of the criminal group, narcotic substances were sold to prisoners.
On July 26, law enforcement officers with the strong support of the special purpose company of the regional police conducted 13 authorized searches of the places of detention of the defendants and the residence of their accomplices. Mobile phones, bank cards, “rough” records and narcotic substances were seized.
The so-called “spotter” and six members of the criminal group were informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 307 (illegal production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Detainees “voluntarily” chose precautionary measures in the form of detention. The collection of evidence base continues to bring other persons involved in illegal activities to criminal responsibility.
The investigation continues under the procedural leadership of the Khmelnytsky Regional Prosecutor's Office. Measures to expose and document illegal activities were carried out jointly with employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in Khmelnytsky region and the operational department of the State Administrative Service “Khmelnytsky Investigative Isolator”.
For the actions committed by the members of the group, they may be threatened with imprisonment for a term of six to ten years with confiscation of property.
