Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, teachers and students of the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine donated blood in their native Kharkiv. After the relocation of part of the personnel to Cherkassy, the donor initiative was continued.

In the first months there was no public transport, so an initiative group of teachers organized cars. On it, officers of the university, as well as other Kharkiv residents who wanted to become donors, were sent for donation. So 120 people were able to get to the Kharkov blood center for donation.

Later, the cadets and some of the staff were deployed to Cherkassy, where they still help local hospitals replenish blood supplies.

More than 250 volunteer cadets donated blood every day during the summer in Cherkassy. Most of the students became donors for the first time during the war. To motivate friends and colleagues, the team even organizes competitions between boys and girls. They say it's an incredible feeling to know that you've helped someone.

The DonoRua project, aimed at coordinating blood donors and promoting free donation in Ukraine, was grateful to talk about #bravedonors with teachers and students of NUCZ in a series of stories.
