National police and information service “ONTAXI” implement notification system to search for missing children
This became known during the meeting, which took place today, July 22.
The National Police is constantly improving the comprehensive search system for missing children within the framework of the “Search for Children” project. The purpose of this work is to attract the technical capabilities of as many actors as possible.
Within the framework of cooperation, the online car calling service “ONTAXI” begins the creation of a system of urgent information for citizens who may have information about the child.
Notifications with detailed information about the search will be distributed among the customers of the information service through the mobile application in the territory with a defined geolocation where the child was last seen.
The head of the Department of Juvenile Prevention of the National Police of Ukraine Vasyl Bohdan noted that in wartime conditions it is extremely important to implement such an initiative.
“The protection of children, in particular, their search is one of the priorities of the National Police. And today's meeting aims to cement our shared desire to improve this search system. This year alone, 5870 requests for missing children were received to police units, and 3851 children disappeared during the war. Despite the fact that we find most of the missing, 202 children are still under active search.”
Vasyl Bohdan stressed that in the event of the disappearance of a child it is extremely important not to waste time and inform all relevant services and citizens who are in that place in the first hour. This will significantly speed up the search.
Konstantin Kudryavtsev, manager of international development of information service “ONTAXI”, thanked for the involvement of their company in the project:
“If our drivers, our app can somehow help find or save at least one child — it will already be a huge achievement. Thank you for allowing us to take part in such initiatives and for driving them.”
