The National Police will protect the energy infrastructure facilities, - Oleksandr Facevych
Currently, the police continue to work in a strengthened mode, in particular, law enforcement officers protect critical infrastructure facilities. More than 100 energy infrastructure facilities will also be protected. Deputy Head of the National Police Oleksandr Fatsevich reported this today, February 23, during a briefing in “Ukrinform”.
According to him, the National Police has been working for the second week in conditions of a strengthened regime. In particular, law enforcement officers promptly process any information that may indicate a threat to people's safety. All facts related to provocations are checked.
“On the weekend, we documented the facts of the paid rallies. They were aimed at destabilizing the situation in the state. It was about calls for the “Russian measure”. At the moment, the sources of funding for this event are being studied, but there is a suspicion that the funding came from the Russian Federation,” Alexander Facevich said.
The deputy head of the National Police stressed that the vulnerable place of each state is the objects of critical infrastructure. Therefore, the police carry out round-the-clock security of such facilities.
“In addition, in the coming days, the combined energy system of Ukraine will operate in an isolated mode, in particular, it will be disconnected from the network of Belarus and the Russian Federation. Therefore, more than 100 energy infrastructure facilities will also be taken under round-the-clock protection,” he said.
Oleksandr Fatsevich stressed that in the east of the country, police units also serve in a reinforced regime. The police not only ensure public order, but also, together with the National Guard and the military, carry out the tasks of the leadership of the Joint Forces.
“At the same time, the leadership of the National Police has decided to send additional forces to the east of the state, as well as the formation of a reserve of special agents, which, if necessary, will be sent to those regions where there is danger,” Oleksandr Fatsevich said.
