National police detained a foreigner who was wanted internationally for heroin smuggling
The 44-year-old man was wanted by law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Turkey. To avoid criminal liability, the attacker fled to Ukraine. The detainee was taken under temporary arrest with subsequent extradition.
In the course of investigative and investigative actions in the framework of the investigation of criminal proceedings on the sale of drugs, the investigators of the Main Investigation Department identified a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, who has been wanted since 2022 through Interpol for committing serious crimes related to the smuggling of drugs.
In particular, it was established that during the transportation of heroin and marijuana, the smuggler was detained by law enforcement officers of the Republic of Turkey. However, in the future, in order to avoid criminal responsibility, the attacker fled and hid in Ukraine.
The foreigner was given a precautionary measure — temporary arrest. It is planned to begin the procedure of his extradition to the Republic of Turkey.
