National police seized 5 tons of counterfeit tobacco
By order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky, the operation “Excise” continues. The main goal is to stop illegal trade without paying taxes in the markets of fuel and tobacco products.
The Department of Strategic Investigations of the NPU in an enhanced version works out the cells of the shadow economy, which weakens and bleeds the country's resources.
In particular, the other day, a group of persons who established an interregional channel for the transportation of raw materials for the production of counterfeit tobacco products got into the development of the DSR.
On the highway Znamyanka-Chop in Khmelnytsky region, a MAN truck was detained, in which more than 5 tons of tobacco and freight invoices with obvious signs of fickleness were found. The preliminary market value of the withdrawn is approximately UAH 1.3 million.
Operational information indicates that the mentioned raw materials were intended for delivery to underground workshops, for the subsequent manufacture of counterfeit tobacco products.
At the moment, information on this fact has already been entered into the EHRD on the basis of the composition of the crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 204 and Part 3 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Priority investigative (investigative) actions are underway, designed to identify and document all participants in the criminal scheme.
