The National Police exposed a powerful drug gang
Members of the criminal group specialized in the manufacture and marketing of the psychotropic substance “Alpha-PvP”. Prohibited substances were distributed exclusively in bulk through the mail and “master clades” — large bookmarks. Every month on the sale of psychotropics offenders earned 2 million hryvnias. The three defendants were informed of the suspicion and a precautionary measure in the form of non-alternative detention was chosen.
Law enforcement officers established that the criminal group includes four residents of the Khmelnytskyi region, and the leader of the group was a 34-year-old man. To disguise his activities, he rented an abandoned house in one of the villages of the Zhytomyr region, where he equipped a drug laboratory for the production of “Alpha-PvP”.
A 35-year-old member of the group, who had knowledge and ability to work with chemical compounds, was responsible for the synthesis of psychotropes. The leader of the group fully provided the laboratory with the necessary equipment and precursors, and its capacity allowed to produce at least 3 kg of “alpha PvP” monthly.
The attacker sent the finished goods to Khmelnytskyi, where two more members of the group packed it and sold it throughout the country in bulk batches through the mail and “master classes” — large bookmarks. Those involved offered their products on their own Telegram channel, which was administered by the leader of the group, and prohibited substances could only be purchased with cryptocurrency. Such a “business” brought them at least two million hryvnias of income per month.
As a result, law enforcement officers seized almost 5 kg of finished “Alpha-PVP”, another 65 liters of “alpha-PVP” in liquid state at the synthesis stage, as well as amphetamine and cannabis. In addition, almost 9 liters of precursors, laboratory equipment, mobile phones and SIM cards of various mobile operators have been removed. The estimated cost of seized banned substances at “black” market prices is more than 10 million hryvnias.
The court chose preventive measures for the suspects in the form of non-alternative detention. In accordance with the sanction of the incriminated article, the defendants face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. Procedural decisions regarding another member of the group will be made after the receipt of the results of expert studies.
