The National Police of Ukraine is ready to ensure law and order during the New Year and Christmas holidays — Igor Klymenko
This was emphasized by the Head of the National Police at an instructional meeting today, December 30, at the Main Directorate of Police of Kyiv. Employees of structural units, patrol police, servicemen of the National Guard and employees of other units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are involved in the service in the enhanced mode.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Department for the Protection of National Statehood of the Security Service of Ukraine Roman Semenchenko, the Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the NPU Igor Babich, the Head of the Kiev Police Ivan Vyhivsky, the Head of the Main Directorate of the SBU in the city. Artem Bondarenko and heads of structural divisions of the capital chapter of Kyiv and Kyiv region.
To immediately respond to changes in the operational situation in the capital, the work of a round-the-clock situation center, additional investigative and operational teams, dog handlers and explosives technicians have been deployed. At all locations where Christmas trees are installed, law enforcement outfits are on duty.
“This year, when our state celebrates the holidays in such conditions for the first time, law enforcement officers must ensure the safety of people as much as possible and prevent any provocations. Therefore, these days we are reinforcing with additional outfits to carry out the service on the streets around the clock. At the same time, we do not exclude that citizens will want to visit Christmas trees, so we draw the attention of residents to the obligation to observe the curfew. Currently in Kyiv it is valid from 23.00 to 05.00 and no one canceled it on New Year's Eve,” said the Head of the National Police Igor Klymenko.
Residents of the capital should be prepared for possible enhanced verification of documents and belongings.
“In the event of the announcement of an air alarm, the work of police uniforms will be aimed at informing residents and guests of the capital about the location of the nearest shelters. At the same time, if the weather conditions worsen, the police will ensure unhindered movement of transport through the streets of the city and will provide assistance to people at mobile police stations.”
The head of the National Police of Ukraine also stressed the ban on the sale and use of pyrotechnic products in conditions of martial law. New Year's holidays are no exception to these restrictions.
As Ivan Vyhivsky, the head of the Metropolitan Police, in Kyiv, law enforcement officers are ready to ensure law order:
“In case of detection of violations, police officers will immediately respond and bring the perpetrators to administrative and criminal responsibility. Therefore, we call on citizens to be conscious and responsible and to assist police officers in carrying out their official duties for peaceful and peaceful holidays.”
