National Academy of NGU starts cooperation with National Academy of Defense of the Armed Forces of Latvia
At the National Guard there was a meeting of the delegation of the Republic of Latvia with the university leadership, a representative of the educational and methodological center and the department of Euro-Atlantic integration.
“We are pleased to welcome you and are ready to discuss important issues of cooperation of our military educational institutions. Such cooperation will be useful for both sides,” Colonel Vladislav Yemanov, the First Deputy Head of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine for educational and methodological work, addressed those present.
Representatives of military universities familiarized each other with the general system of training future officers. The parties shared ideas on the formats of cooperation between the National Academy of Defense of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Latvia and military training institutions (centers) of the National Guard of Ukraine.
“First of all, we want to express our gratitude for the fact that in such an extremely difficult period they took the time and agreed to accept us. I am confident that our meeting will be successful and will receive further progress, - said Colonel Aleksanders Holmanovs, the Defense Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Ukraine. “We are interested to hear about your experience and training of cadets.”
During the meeting, the participants discussed the cooperation of the Academy of NGU with international institutions before the start of the full-scale invasion and after. The main attention was paid to the development and improvement of officer training courses in accordance with NATO standards - L1, L2, L3; as well as bilateral exchange of instructors and teachers.
“We already have a successful track record of integrating NATO standards into military discipline training programs. And now we see a new opportunity for such development and certification of our programs,” said the head of the educational and methodological center Colonel Volodymyr Trobiuk.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold inter-university constituent online meetings to discuss cooperation issues and scientific and practical conferences.
In addition, the participants of the meeting reached an agreement on the preparation and organization of a possible visit of representatives of the NGU Academy to the National Defense Academy of Latvia and to get acquainted with the activities of the educational institution and the process of conducting courses for officers of the L2 level.
