National Guardsman is studying sapper in Kosovo
A group of Ukrainian women, including one National Guard soldier, are being trained to defuse mines and other devices that have not broken apart.
They undergo a four-week advanced training course conducted by local instructors who took part in defusing tens of thousands of mines and cluster bombs left behind by Serbian troops in retreat.
Prior to the training in Kosovo, the representative of NGU Nina had already undergone the initial training of sappers at the International Training Center of the National Guard of Ukraine during the three-month basic special purpose course.
There is not much knowledge. After our victory, a large territory of Ukraine will be mined or contaminated with unexploded explosives, so I do not reject the idea that this will become my main task in the National Guard,” says Nina. The group includes both civilians and military.
A total of 13 people are studying, including 7 women.
Women in Ukraine in any work are not exotic, but real gender equality, because in our country everyone has the right to develop in the direction that interests him. I can assure that in these courses women cope perfectly with any task of instructors,” the guard assures. The
duration of the course is 25 days, at first the cadets studied theory, and now they are expected to practice: recognition of ammunition, detection and neutralization of non-detonated charges.
