National Guardsmen who returned from combat areas underwent psychological rehabilitation
This form of rehabilitation under the program “decompression” is an important measure aimed at restoring the combat readiness of military units.
According to the head of the psychological support service of the National Guard unit in Rivne, the purpose of such rehabilitation is to restore the physical and mental health of servicemen, the level of psychological security and readiness to perform their military duties. Rehabilitation also helps to reduce the negative consequences that can develop after combat psychological injuries.
The first stage of such rehabilitation is to determine the level of injury of the guards and draw up a further program for their recovery. National guards worked with psychologists, attended physiotherapy procedures, hydrotherapy, physical therapy.
“All these measures are very important and useful for us, because they allow you to restore your mental and physical state, restore the body's working capacity. It is useful for us to spend time, recover and play sports. Group classes, for example, art therapy or muscle relaxation, help to find peace and a positive attitude,” says guard Andriy.
