Explosives destroyed almost 2500 explosive devices and ammunition in Zaporizhzhia
The specialists of the explosives service detect, remove and defuse many explosive objects on a daily basis. Police officers work around the clock on reports on the detection of suspicious finds and ammunition.
Thus, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the priority areas of work of employees of the Directorate of the Explosive Engineering Service of the GUNP in the Zaporizhzhya region have been the search and neutralization of explosive objects. Usually such finds are found after enemy rocket and bomb attacks and artillery shelling.
In addition, sappers take direct part in inspections of the scene after enemy attacks, carry out preventive measures and specific training of personnel of units of the National Police and other law enforcement agencies on ensuring explosion safety.
Due to intense enemy shelling in the territories of the frontline settlements of the region, a significant number of explosive objects remain. Including cassette ammunition, which is prohibited by international law.
Since 24.02.2022, Zaporizhzhya police explosive devices carried out more than 3600 sorties and destroyed almost 2500 unexploded shells, mines, rockets, hand grenades, etc. Most of the defused items belonged to the category of “extremely dangerous”.
Once again, we remind you that it is strictly forbidden to move or touch the remains of rockets and unexploded ordnance yourself!
In case of their detection, you must immediately contact the profile services by phone numbers “102" or “101". Be careful and do not endanger yourself and others!
