In Transcarpathia, a group of persons will be tried for illegally transporting men abroad
For the “transfer”, the attackers took $5,000 from one person.
The operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Transcarpathian region and the investigators of the regional police together with the border guards exposed the illegal activities of the group of persons in May this year. Then two local residents were detained while trying to transport a citizen across the state border outside official checkpoints.
The police seized 2500 US dollars, which they received as an advance for their “services”, a similar amount should have been received after the man crossed the border.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is completed. The indictment was sent to the court in agreement with the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office. Two defendants are charged with committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine may face punishment — imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years.
