In Transcarpathia, border guards found a stash of cigarettes in a truck
A batch of tobacco products that tried to illegally move from Ukraine to Hungary was discovered yesterday by border guards of the Chopsky detachment together with customs officers at the Tisa checkpoint.
In the evening, a Mercedes truck arrived at the checkpoint for the departure from Ukraine, which was driven by a 47-year-old Ukrainian. According to the documents, he transported the meat of broiler chickens. During the inspection of the truck, law enforcement officers suspected the possible movement of goods and objects hidden from control in it. So the vehicle was sent for an in-depth inspection.
A service dog of border guards was involved in the inspection, with the help of which they found a cache of tobacco products in the vehicle. As it later turned out, in the front of the trailer, behind the wall of the refrigerator, they tried to covertly move 969 packs of tobacco products across the border.
In accordance with the procedure established by law, hidden tobacco products were seized by customs officers. Their cost is currently being established.
