In Transcarpathia, law enforcement officers detained the organizers of the transfer of men in military service abroad
The border guards, together with employees of the National Police and the SBU, eliminated the channel of transportation of conscripted men across the border.
Two local residents were detained 50 meters from the Ukrainian-Romanian border on the outskirts of the village of Lug Rakhiv, Transcarpathia district. The shippers accompanied two “clients”, from which they planned to receive 4 thousand US dollars each. Noticing the law enforcement officers, the transporters tried to escape. To stop them, the border guards had to carry out several warning shots.
The detention was carried out by an interdepartmental group consisting of employees of the Main Operational and Investigative Department of the Mukachevo Border Detachment, the Department for the Investigation of Particularly Serious Crimes of the Investigative Department of the Civil Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian Region and the Security Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian Region. Under the procedural guidance of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office, criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
At the moment, the organizers of the transfer of military servicemen abroad have been declared suspected of committing a crime. If the suspects are proven guilty in court, they face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to seven years.
