In Transcarpathia, police detained four members of a group that “specialized” in stealing fuel
In one “exit” the attackers stole up to 2500 liters, which were then sold. For their actions, they face from five to eight years in prison.
In the course of documenting criminal activities, the operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Transcarpathian region, together with the employees of the regional prosecutor's office, established methods of stealing fuel, the place of its storage and the role of each participant.
The theft of fuel was organized by the fuel workers of one of the enterprises. To do this, they made a cut in the pipeline, threaded the hose and filled the canisters with fuel outside the territory of the enterprise. Later, they were taken to the place of residence of one of the defendants, from where the sale of fuel was carried out. In one “exit” they could steal up to 2500 liters of fuel.
On October 6, police detained four people during another theft of fuel. They have already managed to pump more than 1500 liters of oil product. All defendants were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators of the investigative department of the regional police informed them of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 4 of Art. 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The issue of choosing preventive measures is being resolved. For the offense, he may face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
