In Transcarpathia, the members of the criminal group who deceived citizens for the sale of military ammunition will stand trial
Investigators of the Uzhgorod RUP have completed a pre-trial investigation into the criminal activities of a group of fraudsters who deceived citizens for the sale of military ammunition.
Two previously convicted roommates and their accomplice were informed of the suspicion. Now the indictments along with the materials of the criminal proceedings were sent to the court by the investigators.
Thus, at the end of last year, the operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the police of the region, together with investigators and cyber police, stopped the illegal activities of the spouses of fraudsters and their third accomplice. This is a fraudulent scheme for the sale of military ammunition.
Law enforcement officials found that the 24-year-old Uzhhorod, together with his 28-year-old roommate, created an online store selling military ammunition at prices lower than the market. The list of goods included berets, thermal underwear, tactical gloves, etc.
Buyers transferred partial or full payment to attackers and waited for orders to be delivered. However, after receiving the money, the scammers disappeared and, accordingly, people were left without funds and without the promised goods.
In the course of the investigative actions, the police established additional facts of the criminal activity of the spouses and exposed their third accomplice. The 32-year-old Uzhhorod played no less role in the organization of the fraudulent scheme. In particular, the man helped to search for relevant ads in Telegram channels, corresponded with buyers and negotiated with them about payment and sending goods.
Also, the police found that the circle of citizens deceived by the attackers reached more than two dozen - 21 facts of fraudulent actions of the suspects. The total amount of material damage caused by them to citizens is approximately 150 thousand hryvnias.
Currently, an indictment has been formed in the case, which, together with the materials of the criminal proceedings, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, is directed for trial. Intruders are incriminated in Part 3 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For their actions, they face up to 8 years in prison.
