Recently, indictments were directed to the Uzhgorod City District Court against eight suspects of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine.

They were detained directly at the scene of the offense.

Recall that in February of this year, the operatives of the Chop Border Detachment together with the employees of the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Uzhgorod District Prosecutor's Office exposed regular traffickers who, for a monetary reward in the amount of 3000 to 5000 US dollars per person, organized an illegal border crossing eighteen citizens of Ukraine of conscription age.

The latter were supposed to reach Hungary outside the checkpoints. Their route also included a river section, which they planned to cross by inflatable boat.

The offenders were detained near the village of Vilok, in Transcarpathia. One of the detainees is a resident of the Luhansk region, the rest are Transcarpathians.

The events were held within the framework of criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code “Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.

For the committed acts, the dealers are threatened with imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years.
