A group of robbers was detained in Kharkiv region
Law enforcement officers of Kharkiv region conducted a special operation to detain a criminal group that “specialized” in robberies. The last victim of the criminal group was an 84-year-old man.
Employees of the Kharkiv Division of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police received information that there was a group operating on the territory of Kharkiv region, whose members pretended to be policemen and committed robbery attacks.
Together with the investigators and the Criminal Investigation Department of the Kharkiv region police officers went on the “trail” of the persons involved. The criminal group was organized by a 39-year-old native of Russia, currently a resident of Kharkiv region, repeatedly convicted of robbery and drugs. He involved three accomplices in the criminal trade: a 38-year-old resident of the Kharkiv region and two natives of one of the countries of the Caucasus region, 33 and 50 years old. Like the organizer, the henchmen are also in the criminal bases of the police.
Law enforcement officials found that in December last year, the group members inflicted bodily injuries and used tear gas against a minor Kharkiv resident. From the lying unconscious guy, the attackers took away a bag with valuables, documents and cash in the amount of almost 7000 hryvnias.
In addition, the plans of the attackers in the near future to carry out a robbery attack on a resident of Kharkiv region who is engaged in currency exchange and money loans became known.
However, the first on the list of victims of robbers was an 84-year-old resident of Kharkiv, who seemed to have certain savings. In order to save the grandfather, who could not withstand the torture of criminals, law enforcement officers promptly took a set of measures and conducted a special operation to detain the criminal group.
The pensioner opened the door of the apartment to the intruders himself, because they were called police officers. Once in the house, the accomplices threw themselves at the man with their fists, and so as not to scream, they sealed his mouth with tape. At this moment, the fighters of the special unit KORD worked.
All four defendants were detained by law enforcement officers at the scene of the crime. During the search, they seized a knife, scotch tape, gloves, bank cards of the victim. In addition, the car in which the intruders were moving was seized.
Police investigators under the procedural leadership of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office declared a suspect under Part 3 of Art. 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For the actions committed, attackers can face up to 12 years in prison. Further investigative actions are being carried out regarding the involvement of the defendants in other crimes.
