In Kharkiv region, police seized from illegal circulation excisable products worth UAH 7 million
Cigarettes were sold under the logos of domestic and foreign manufacturers in the territory of Kharkiv and the region.
Employees of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in Kharkiv region and investigators of the Investigative Department of the Regional Police exposed the illegal activities of a group of persons who established the clandestine production and sale of excisable products.
The defendants “collected” cigarettes in the “mini-shop” — filters, sleeves, which were filled with tobacco, and then simply packed in zip bags. In addition, tobacco products from Russia were repackaged. In the future, goods were sold under the logos of domestic and foreign manufacturers without excise tax stamps through a wholesale and retail trade network.
As part of the criminal proceedings, the police conducted 24 sanctioned searches of production sites, storage of tobacco products and trade pavilions where products are marketed.
Almost 67,000 packs of cigarettes, more than 11,000 e-cigarettes, 3,200 packs of hookah tobacco, 20 kg of tobacco, $43,000 and UAH 338,000 were seized. Also found were the sealing stickers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB of Russia, according to which tobacco products were seized as part of criminal proceedings from the employees of these bodies.
The total value of the seized reaches 7 million hryvnias.
Currently, channels of supply of products, in particular from the Russian Federation, are being established, as well as the involvement of those involved in possible cooperation with the occupiers.
Criminal proceedings are investigated under Article 204 (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of sale of excisable goods) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the procedural guidance is carried out by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
