More than 47,000 explosive objects defused in Kharkiv and Kherson region
Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, the press officer of the State Emergency Service, told about the demining of the de-occupied territories of these areas by pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Situations Service during a briefing in Media Center Ukraine.
“In the Kherson region, since the beginning of the de-occupation, more than 5 thousand explosive objects have been neutralized and 393 hectares of territory have been surveyed. The situation is not easy. We work with power engineers, with all utilities, to establish life support systems, first of all, to provide electricity. But the enemy has so tightly replaced these territories that it is not so easy to do. Just yesterday, 93 pyrotechnics and 39 units of equipment were involved there, about 19 hectares were examined and 137 units of explosive objects were neutralized,” said Khorunzhyi.
Kharkiv region currently remains one of the most dangerous territories of Ukraine in terms of contamination with explosive objects.
“Since the arrival of our reinforced units of pyrotechnics on September 8, 1553 hectares have already been examined and 42 thousand explosive objects have been neutralized,” the press officer added.
