A criminal “scheme” for the sale of military ammunition received as humanitarian aid was exposed in Volyn
On July 19, the USR operatives exposed the head of one of the departments of the charitable foundation during the sale of goods for almost 600,000 hryvnias. For this amount, the woman tried to sell 54 armor vests, 25 sets of armor plates and 50 pairs of military berets and “unloading”.
Operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Volyn region together with the Lutsk District Prosecutor's Office established all those involved in illegal activities. Those involved can face up to seven years in prison with confiscation of property.
According to the investigation, members of the charitable foundation have arranged the supply of humanitarian assistance from EU countries for military needs. But instead of sending aid to the front, they sold it.
In the course of court-authorized searches, law enforcement officers seized 4800 armor plates, 2,300 tile socks, 150 pairs of military shoes, rolls of cloth, documents confirming the fact of receiving property as humanitarian aid, “rough” records. The total amount of seized military equipment and ammunition is more than 28 million hryvnias.
Currently, the issue of arrest of seized property and declaration of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 201-2 (illegal use for profit of humanitarian aid, charitable donations or gratuitous assistance) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being resolved.
