An updated border unit was opened in Volyn
On May 2, the opening of the newly created border command post of the Volyn detachment took place.
Four million hryvnias were allocated to the arrangement of the unit. During the repair work, the administrative building, the box for automotive equipment and the buildings for economic purposes were restored, and a modular town was equipped.
It is known that the staff of the unit, which includes five border posts, provides security for more than a hundred kilometers of the border with Belarus. The whole site is securely fortified in engineering terms and equipped with video surveillance cameras.
The head of the border detachment Sergey Lozinsky was present at the opening of the updated unit. He presented the servicemen with awards and honors.
“I thank everyone for their courage, courage and self-sacrifice, for daily service and steadfastness in the struggle for freedom and independence of our Ukraine. Special thanks to our servicemen who are on the front lines today. We will always remember the exploits of our heroes. Eternal memory to the fallen comrades,” Serhiy Lozinsky noted.
In turn, the border guards showed the guests the weapons and equipment used during the protection and defense of the state border to the guests. The head of the Volyn Regional State Administration Yuriy Poguliayko and the head of the regional council Grigory Nedopad handed over the keys to four off-road vehicles to the military.
At the same time, Metropolitan Michael of Lutsk and Volyn performed the consecration of the chapel in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was built on the territory of a military town.
Also, those present participated in the landscaping of the territory of the border command post. Together with the border guards, the guests planted a dozen ornamental trees.
