Border guards opened a modern Situation Center in Volyn
The event was attended by representatives of local authorities, partner structures, clergy and philanthropists. It was thanks to their support that it was possible to create this control point. About 2 million hryvnias were spent on its arrangement.
The area of responsibility of the border patrol is almost 450 kilometers of the border with Poland and Belarus. Directly through the Situation Center, information about the situation in one direction or another is collected.
The center is equipped with modern means of computer and special equipment, which makes it possible to receive and process information coming from various sources. A new video system is installed here, with which the center staff can conduct remote online monitoring of images from cameras located directly on the border line, at checkpoints and border units.
So, at present, video surveillance cameras, in particular thermal imaging, have been installed on the Ukrainian-Belarusian section, which make it possible to observe the border line in the dark, and to detect various objects at long distances.
“Thanks to this system, we will be able to respond in a timely manner to any provocative actions on the part of the neighboring state, attempts to illegally cross the border by hostile elements, as well as to carry out remote control over the actions of subordinate units,” said the head of the border detachment Sergey Lozinsky.
Also in the Center there are two rooms for the rest of the staff changing the operational and on-call service, which is on call throughout the day.
