In Volyn, police detained a man who promised to help military servicemen leave abroad

The attacker offered to help evaders to go abroad unhindered by entering false information into the “Way” system. The defendant was declared a suspect.

A 33-year-old resident of Kovel district, Volyn, came into view of the operatives of the Volyn department of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police. He sought out conscripted men and offered to help them avoid mobilization.

The man told the evaders that he had the opportunity to enter false information about persons into the database of the system “Path”, through which men of conscription age can freely and legally cross the state border. The 33-year-old businessman valued his services at $3,000.

According to the materials of internal police security, employees of the investigative department of the GUNP in the Volyn region entered information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 3 of Art. 332 (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

During the receipt of part of the agreed amount, UDVB operatives and investigators of the Volyn police were detained. During the investigation, money was found and withdrawn from the man, and the attacker has already been declared a suspect.
For his actions, he faces from 7 to 9 years in prison.

Operators of the FIB NPU check the involvement of other persons in illegal activities to bring them to justice. Procedural management is carried out by the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office. The investigation is ongoing.
