In Vinnytsia region, border guards found a warehouse with counterfeit cigarettes
During the authorized search at two addresses of the defendants in the criminal case in the city. Mogilev — Podolsk law enforcement officers found a warehouse with a significant number of cigarettes without stamps of excise tax of Ukraine.
A joint interdepartmental group consisting of operational officers of the State Border Guard Service, investigators of the National Police, under the procedural guidance of the Mogilev-Podolsk District Prosecutor's Office, revealed the place of accumulation of tobacco products within the framework of criminal proceedings.
In total, 6,500 packs of cigarettes of various brands were found in the utility room where counterfeit products were stored. The estimated cost of the withdrawn goods reaches 300 thousand UAH. In addition, funds in the amount of 95000 UAH were withdrawn, which were probably received as payment for the illegal sale of these products.
These events took place in accordance with the materials of the operational border unit within the framework of criminal proceedings under Art. 199 of the Criminal Code “Manufacture, storage, acquisition, transportation, shipment, importation into Ukraine for use in the sale of goods, sale or sale of counterfeit money, state securities, state lottery tickets, excise tax stamps or holographic protective elements”.
Investigative actions are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the offense.
