Bad weather is coming to Ukraine: specialized services are ready for new challenges
The meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations took place the day before at the State Emergency Service.
On the agenda is the clarification of the plan of measures of the central and local executive authorities to counter threats during the aggravation of weather conditions on the territory of Ukraine in the period 26-27 November.
According to the results of the meeting, a number of decisions were made that will allow us to respond as quickly and qualitatively as possible to the deterioration of weather conditions.
In regions where bad weather is forecast, round-the-clock work of headquarters will be organized to coordinate the actions of local authorities and enterprises involved in eliminating the consequences of adverse weather conditions. Particular attention is paid to ensuring road safety and clearing roads from snow. In case of aggravation of the situation, it is possible to make decisions on restricting the movement of transport, as well as the cancellation of regular transportation in certain directions. There will be prepared places for temporary parking of transit transport.
Snow cleaning equipment and all necessary services will work on the highways in enhanced mode. If necessary, mobile points of invulnerability will be deployed to assist drivers on the roads.
During the period of worsening weather conditions, the number of patrols will be increased to regulate traffic and ensure safety on the roads.
During November 26-27, forecasters predict heavy snowfalls, ice, gusts of wind on a large territory of Ukraine.
We urge all citizens to be careful when on the street. Drivers are asked unnecessarily not to travel in their own cars and use public transport, as well as not to plan long-distance trips.
