In Konotop district, the tractor driver, ignoring the sign “Beware of mines”, drove into a restricted area and came across an explosive object. As a result of the explosion, agricultural machinery is damaged and the tractor driver is injured.

The investigative and operational team of the Konotop regional police department, having arrived at the scene, found out that in a field, not far from one of the villages, a 46-year-old employee of an agrarian enterprise was spraying wheat. The work was carried out on a John Deere tractor with a trailer sprayer.

The tractor driver told law enforcement that he saw a warning sign saying “Beware of mines”, but still drove to a dangerous area near the field to do the work. A few seconds later there was a powerful explosion - the sprayer hit a mine with its wheel. The man got out of the tractor and saw that the wheels and body of the sprayer were damaged and a ravine formed on the ground. The driver, fortunately, received only a few scratches.

The police strongly urge to comply with the rules of mine safety and advise in no case to ignore signs, signs, inscriptions and labels warning of mine-explosive hazards. It is strictly forbidden to touch them if any military-style ammunition is detected, or homemade. To be and carry out any work directly next to explosive objects or in an area where warning signs “Beware of mines” are installed, smoke, use lighters, other sources of open fire in places where there may be explosive objects. Move a suspicious object, fill it with liquids, cover it with soil, try to cover something, form a cluster of people directly next to the object found.

Law enforcement officers advise everyone to be attentive and careful, because your life depends on it.
