In Sumy region, rescuers worked out actions in case of enemy use of weapons of mass destruction
On May 20, within the framework of the command and staff exercises, practical training of the actions of specialized civil protection services in the event of the use of weapons of mass destruction by the troops of the aggressor country took place.
According to the tactical plan, one of the settlements in the region was hit by the enemy. The units of radiation, chemical and biological protection of the State Emergency Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted radiation reconnaissance of the terrain and determination of the boundaries of radioactive contamination zones due to the use of weapons of mass destruction.
The fire and rescue units of the State Emergency Service arrived at the scene of the emergency. In special means of personal protection, rescuers began to eliminate combustion cells and emergency rescue work.
Rescue units deblocked the victims from under the rubble, and the employees of the medical service of the State Emergency Service transported them to the place of special treatment - decontomination.
Pyrotechnic units conducted a survey of the territory for the presence of explosive objects.
As it was established, a fire broke out in an unpolluted area in the forest massif. Rescuers, along with the Department of Forestry Fire Department, located the fire, prevented the flames from spreading to trees and the fire from growing into the upper reaches, and tamed the blaze.
