In Sumy region, border guards exposed drug trafficker
During the control over the commission of a criminal offense, law enforcement officers managed to document the facts of the sale of the “goods”. The drug dealer was detained on a hot spot, directly during his next attempt to sell a narcotic substance.
The other day in Sumy region, law enforcement officers detained a man who tried to establish the sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances among the servicemen of one of the units of the Defense Forces.
In addition, an authorized search was carried out at the place of residence of the offender, during which methadone pills, an RGD-5 grenade and 30 rounds of 5.45 mm caliber were found and seized.
46-year-old drug dealer, in accordance with Art. 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, detained and reported on suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances, he faces imprisonment for a term of six to ten years with confiscation of property.
The measures to expose and detain the drug trafficker were carried out by officers of the Department of Internal and Own Security of the Sumy Border Detachment together with the employees of the GUNP in the Sumy region under the procedural leadership of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office.
A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
